KMA’s programs are managed and supervised by STC-Group from the Netherlands. While STC Group provides oversight and consultation, they are also actively involved in supporting KMA’s development toward a sustainable maritime and logistic center of excellence in Central Asia and beyond.

International Maritime College Oman (IMCO) and KBTU have signed a memorandum of understanding to exchange expertise and students in the maritime programs. KMA graduates have been able to travel to Sultanate of Oman for training and examinations in order to certify as officers of merchant fleet, by receiving a Certificate of Competency.

Partner companies from the Maritime and service industries are involved in supervision and review of teaching curriculum and provide apprenticeship places for KMA cadets during the practical year at sea. Amongst them are Chevron Shipping, COSCO Shipping and partner companies, Topaz Marine, Caspian Offshore Construction and KazMorTransFlot.

Last but not the least, Tengizchevroil LLP, Chevron and North Caspian Operating Company BV are the sponsors of Kazakhstan Maritime Academy. It would have not been possible without their generous contribution to set up and achieve many milestones in such a short period of time. We are grateful for their support and contribution, but most of all, for their investment in development of human capital.

KMA has been accredited (on yearly basis) by Ministry of Transport and Communication from Sultanate of Oman regarding compliance of both educational programs to requirements of the Maritime Administration of the Sultanate and compliance with Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW’78, as amended).
