ACBSP Accreditation

KBTU Business School (KBS) is at the final stages of seeking to convert its candidacy status for accreditation to full accreditation from the USA-based Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)  . This will complement its existing state (Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan) education licenses and NKAOKO, CFA, ACCA and CIMA accreditations. Key information related to ACBSP accreditation is provided on this page.
ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation association for business education recognized by the US Department of Education. ACBSP accredits over 1,000 business schools and programs worldwide with a focus on teaching excellence.
KBS Bachelor Program Performance
The following table (Figure 1) provides data on bachelor students recruited to 1st year, retained (from 2nd to 7th year), graduated and dropped during the past 5 years (2013-2018). Students enrolled in the 2014-2015 cohort graduated in June 2018. Recruited students represent those who were admitted to KBS bachelor programs. The number for ‘retained’ shows those who progressed toward graduation including students transferred to KBS from other schools. Dropped out students include those who did not meet KBS academic requirements, transferred to other universities or had to leave for other reasons.

It is noted that, since 2014, all KBS programs have only admitted students to English language programs. As Figure 2 shows, the school programs have grown in student size consistently year on year.

KBS Master Program Performance
Figure 3 shows the total number of recruited, continuing, graduating and dropped students for the three master programs (MBA, MS in Financial Analysis, and MS in Supply Chain & Project Management) for the past 4 academic years (2014-2018). All data are taken from KBTU orders for enrolment, graduation and release. It is noted that, students admitted in 2017-2018 graduate in December 2018, so the bar shows the expected number of graduates. In general, the majority of enrolled students graduate within the set timeframe of 1.5 years. Rates for students taking an extension year and non-graduating exits (dropouts) are relatively low. Overall, our graduate programs have a high on-time completion rate.
