Laboratory of Nanotechnologies   - was opened in the Kazakh-British Technical University in May 2, 2011 under the guidance of Professor Kair Kh. Nussupov. In October 15, 2018 transformed into the Scientific and Educational Center for Alternative Energy and Nanotechnology (SEC AEN).

 

 

Goals

  • Educational activities for the preparation of PhD doctoral students with the use of modern installations of low-current and high-current electronics.
  • Development of a complex of technologies for the production of solar cells and solar modules, both terrestrial and space-based.
  • Development and production of wind turbines based on our own patents.
  • Synthesis and study of carbide silicon and diamond-like carbon films for nanoelectronics.
  • Development of basic ion-beam installations (accelerator technology, etc.) and electron guns. Electron-ion and magnetic optics. Magnetic analyzers and spectrometers for studying climate catastrophes.

 

 

 

Research and Development

 

I Complex of technologies for the production of one-sided and bifacial solar cells:

1) technology of obtaining a smooth mirror surface of silicon wafers;

2) technology for producing high-quality p-n-junction;

3) manufacturing technology of the selective emitter for the effective use of the blue part of the solar spectrum and increase efficiency;

4) technology of passivation of the silicon surface to increase efficiency;

5) technology for the synthesis of Si and SiC nanocrystals for converting the ultraviolet part of the spectrum into the visible region of the spectrum and increasing the efficiency;

6) development of methods for determining the thickness, chemical composition and structure of the layers;

7) technology for the synthesis of effective diffusion barrier based on TiNx and other compounds between copper metallization and a silicon substrate;

8) synthesis technology of nanolayers TiSi2 for the contact system;

9) technology of creating a multilayer contact system of the front and back sides of the element to increase the service life of solar cells;

10) synthesis technology of anti-reflective coatings of solar cells;

11) photolithography technology for layer-by-layer deposition of nanostructures;

12) laser cutting g of silicon wafers to remove short circuits;

13) lamination technology and solar panel encapsulation;

14) methods for measuring current-voltage characteristics and efficiency;

15) testing solar modules on the sun simulator;

16) assembly of mini-power plants, etc.

 

II Creating a multistage wind installation;

1) development and patenting of new wind turbines;

2) production of prototypes of wind turbines.

 

III Synthesis of high-quality single-crystalline and nanocrystalline silicon carbide and diamond films for nanoelectronics

1) Synthesis and study of amorphous and crystalline silicon carbide films for nanoelectronics.

Implemented development

- bifacial solar batteries at the power plant in the SEZ PIT "Alatau". Successful operation during three years. The invested funds paid off due to the generation of electricity.

- a multi-stage wind installation on the shores of Lake Kapshagay;

- solid films for various purposes (SiC, Si, Ti, TiN, Ta, TaN, W2N, Al, Cu);

- Accelerator of light and heavy mass-separated ions in KBTU.

Nussupov Kair Khamzaevich - head of SEC AEN, professor, has a degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics in the specialty 04/01/07 - Condensed Matter Physics (FIAN, Moscow, 1996, Specialized Council D.002.39.02 of Nobel Prize winner Basov N.G.); title "Professor of Physics" (KKSON MES RK, 05.28.2010, Astana), Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (diploma No. 9342 dated June 1, 2017), Honored Worker of Science and Education of the Russian Federation (certificate No. 01434, Moscow, 2014), founder of the scientific school of the Russian Federation (certificate No. 00839, Moscow 2014 city), a member of the New York Academy of Sciences (2005). He prepared 3 candidates of physical and mathematical sciences (Moscow, 1994, 1995, 2006), 1 PhD and 1 doctor of physical and mathematical sciences (IPTM RAS, 2011). He has been worked in the USA (New York and others) – for 10 years, in Russia (Moscow) – for 5 years, in the military-industrial complex of the USSR - 15 years. In Kazakhstan, he was the first in the USSR to convert a linear accelerator of heavy ions (ILU-4) to low energies. Using this accelerator, he developed and created semiconductor detectors of nuclear particles, which, after testing as the best in the USSR, were installed on board a special-purpose spacecraft. These detectors in extreme conditions of open space have worked for more than 20,000 hours (there is official confirmation), has a US patent for accelerator technology, a USSR author's certificate for official use, three patents and one International Application for Wind Power. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Nussupov Kair Khamzaevich awarded: Diploma "The Best Engineer of 2015 in Kazakhstan" (winner of the republican competition, Decree of the Presidium No. 138 dated January 19, 2016 of the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan); Diploma of the winner of the republican contest “Online-Expo-2017” (Astana, 2016 G-GLOBAL); academic community awards for publication cycles. Beisenkhanov Nurzhan Beisenkhanovich - deputy head on science of the SEC AEN, professor, has a degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (IPTM RAS, 2011) in the specialty 05.27.01 - solid-state electronics, radioelectronic components, micro- and nanoelectronics, devices based on quantum effects, the title “Professor of Physics” (Astana, MES RK, 2017). Co-author of 65 journal articles, of which 10 with an impact factor higher than 1, as well as monographs and 3 chapters in European books. He is an officially recognized reviewer by Elsevier and is certified by Elsevier Reviewer Recognition. Bakranova Dina Igorevna - deputy head on academic issues of the SEC AEN, PhD, Senior Researcher of JSC "KBTU". She graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev (Almaty, 2004-2008, bachelor of technical physics), as well as the master degree of KazNTU named after K.I. Satpayev (2008-2012, Master of Technics and Technologies). In 2017 she defended her thesis on the specialty "6D074000 - Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies (Physics)". He is a co-author of 20 publications, including 8 articles in journals from the list of KKSON RK and 4 articles in publications with impact factor Thomson Reuters or Scopus (“Superlattices and Microstructures” (Thomson Reuters, IF2.123), “Physics of the Solid State” (Thomson Reuters IF0.831)).
