Mission The MBA programme is focused on training internationally competitive managers with a global vision and cross-cultural awareness capable to tackle business issues to find optimal solutions in the oil and gas sector, developing effective management and business skills as well as shaping company strategy.

Aims and Objectives To streamline and structure many-sided professional experience, to broaden the knowledge of current and future oil companies executives. The programme aims at developing leadership skills and creative potential and building up strategic vision and approach to problem solving to deal with decision making in a complex, dynamically changing business environment

Programme structure conforms to the Ministry of Education requirements and European standards of master's degree academic plans and curricula along with the number of credits in core and major disciplines.

Curricula are designed in a logical consequence of modular and distance format of training enabling the learners to put the acquired knowledge into practice and introduce changes into their professional activity. They are based on best practices of leading international universities and meet international educational requirements. The programme provides for theoretical courses, followed up by professional training, state examinations and dissertation preparation and defense.

In compliance with the Educational Standards of the Ministry of Education and Science the MBA programme comprises three main groups of subjects: fundamental/core disciplines, majors, and electives

The programme ends with the preparation and defense of the master’s dissertation. State-of-the art teaching methodology is based on active learning with constant interaction with group mates focusing on case studies, team and individual projects, role plays, presentations and discussions. Theoretical courses are followed up by professional training at national companies and KBTU partner universities. A unique double diploma option is available whereby graduates are awarded with KBTU and partner university diplomas. Students will have an opportunity to take certified courses/pass modules abroad which will be credited by KBTU. The key feature of the Programme is its flexibility providing for combining work and study. Classes are conducted in one of the offered modes: full-time, evening or at week-ends. All teaching materials, time-tables, examination results are available on the Intranet thus increasing the efficiency of retention and raising the quality of teaching. Students are given access to studied or planned themes at any time and place of the world. The learners are provided with the possibility of on-line tutorials with their teachers and doing their homework via the «masters.kbtu.kz» internal e-system.

We take pride in our faculty of highly qualified national and international professors as well as prominent experts and practitioners from various fields of Kazakhstan’s and world economies experienced in international business. Individual and learner-centred approach is at the core of instruction, reinforced by interactive teaching, two-way feedback, ongoing assessment of student progress, Socratus-style lectures, with self-access materials availability.

Enrollment deadline: 31 August 2012

Programme duration: 1 and/or 2 years

Tuition fees: One academic year: Tenge 1 650 000.

Payment options:

30% of the tuition fee advance payment before the start of the academic year;
30% of the tuition fee to be paid before 1 December of the current academic year;
40% of the tuition fee to be paid before 1 April of the current academic year;

Students are also welcome to opt for the up-front payment of the entire tuition fee
