Scientific - research laboratory «Perspective materials and technologies» was founded in 2009.

There are 9 employees work at the laboratory: 2 doctors of sciences, 1 PhD, 2 candidates of science. Wellknown scientist, Prof. Kenzhaliev Bagdaulet Kenzhalievich supervises the laboratory.

The laboratory carries out researches on mountain-metallurgical, machine-building and oil and gas sectors of economy of Republic Kazakhstan, in particular:

1) on scientific - technical program «Realization together with the national companies of the special scientific and technical programs directed on the decision of perspective problems, accompanying their primary activity» for 2009-2011;

2) on the program «Development of a nano science and nano technologies in РК» for 2010-2012 on a theme «Development and creation of hardware at the international level for technological processes of synthesis of nano materials, for the defence industry and key economic branches»;

3) on the program «Target development of the university science focused on innovative result» for 2011-2014

Employees of laboratory are offered innovative technologies for extraction colour, rare and precious metals from difficult and persistent mineral raw materials which allow to improve economic indicators of manufacture of metals and will provide preservation of the environment. A number of works have done in the field of information technology for perfection of technologies for oil extracting. The technology of recycling of a waste of aluminous manufacture is developed for use in pig-iron manufacture. On the basis of the research discoveries in the field of metallurgical science the innovative technology of physicomechanical hardening of metals and alloys is developed. New metal powders and technology were developed on hardware for rehabilitation of large knots of a rolling stock of the railways, the oil recovery and gas equipment and other heavy equipment are executed.

Results of researches are reported at 19 international conferences, symposiums and seminars. For 2009-2011 the laboratory has 41 publication, 5 innovative patents and 3 certificates on the state registration for the copyright.
