KBTU has successfully obtained National Institutional Accreditation from the Independent Kazakhstan Quality Assurance Agency for Education (IQAA) in 2011.  

The Independent Kazakhstan Quality Assurance Agency in Education was established in 2008 within the scope of a National Quality System. The activity of the Agency is based on the principles of social partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Association of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan; higher educational institutions; and associations of employers and consumers of educational services.

National Institutional Accreditation is a professional assurance of quality, ensuring that institutional quality adheres to a set of nationally recognized standards.  It is one of the external rating systems of educational quality in Kazakhstan, and is part of the National System of Educational Quality Assessment. The System was created by a Resolution of the Head of State, and was included in the State Educational Development Program for the years 2005-2010.

The accreditation model of IQAA is consistent with world practice in educational quality assurance. The standards and criteria in National Institutional Accreditation were developed in accordance with existing international standards.

Experts in national educational quality assurance are specialists from Kazakhstan, representatives of respected international organizations, and professionals engaged in educational quality assurance. 

 Members of the Accreditation Council of Institutes of Higher Education (Kazakhstan) are composed of representatives of Parliament, known as the Mazhilis; the RK Ministry of Education and Science; institutions of higher education; scientific organizations; representatives of employers, the public, and students, as well as international experts.

•  Co-founder of the International Rankings Experts Group (IREG)
• Full member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE)
