
The KBTU Personnel Policy has been developed in accordance with the Strategy of KBTU Development for 2011-2020, and the Personnel Policy of JSC “KazMunaiGaz” for 2011-2015. The Policy comprises main directions and personnel management approaches for the fulfillment of KBTU’s mission and strategic goals.
The KBTU Personnel Policy is aimed at uniting current approaches, methods, and instruments of personnel management using the best experience in the sphere of HR activity. The KBTU Personnel Policy is based on the following main principles:
- Coverage – inclusion of all spheres of HR activity
- Systematicity – consideration of all policy constituent elements in interaction
- Transparency – openness at all stages of HR management
- Reasonableness – usage of modern methods in HR management, which could ultimately provide economic and social benefits
- Efficiency – expenses for HR management should be paid back by enterprise activity results
The KBTU Personnel Policy assumes the responsibility of KBTU top management for the efficiency of HR activity using HR instruments for personnel motivation.
CURRENT HR RESOURCES
KBTU is one of the leading universities of Kazakhstan for training specialists for the oil and gas sector of the Kazakhstan economy. KBTU staff includes 582 employees. Among them: 12% administrative management; 64% faculty members, scholars, and department staff; 24% service staff.
The average age range of KBTU employees is 30-40, which constitutes 65% of all personnel and represents the optimal ratio, preserving the balance of young workers and experienced employees. About 52% of KBTU personnel are women, 48% men. The percentage of women who hold leadership positions is about 20%. The percentage of personnel with higher education is 84%, a fact justified by KBTU-specific activities. About 80% of KBTU top management has academic degrees at a Candidate/Doctor of Science or PhD level.
The above composition is evidence of the high level of KBTU personnel expertise and potential, the basis for the successful introduction of planned initiatives and achievement of an intensified quality level of HR management at KBTU.
