Associate Professor Saule K. Abdygapparova
S. Abdygapparova, graduated from Moscow State Linguistic University, Russia (1975) and was awarded her PhD in Linguistics from the same university (1986). Associate Professor and Head of the English Language Department, she specialises in teaching English and Communication. S. Abdygapparova has more than 30 years of teaching experience and was awarded the “Excellency in Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan” title (1998). She is the author of 4 manuals and more than 70 publications; a Fulbright alumna (University of Kansas, USA, 2000); a member of Almaty TEA, FASK and CIES (USA); and she is currently Adviser to NATEK.

Department of Mathematics and Cybernetics
Auzhan Sakabekov – doctor of Physical and Mathematical sciences, professor, Head of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Cybernetics.
Auzhan Sakabekov is full member of the Academy of Natural Sciences. His research interests include theory and application of the Boltzman equation distance probing, atmosphere optics, theory of radiative transfer and applied mathematics.

The Higher mathematics and cybernetics department provides students KBTU with fundamental mathematical knowledge. The department purpose – to teach students:
- To build mathematical model of a technical or economic problem;
- To check identity of the constructed mathematical model;
- To solve the received mathematical problem;
- To apply the received results to forecasting.
In this direction the department aspires to improvement of quality of educational process by introduction of modern methods and techniques of training, updating and creation of the new mathematical courses considering requirements of developing oil and gas branch of Republic Kazakhstan. The department isn’t letting out, carries out general university functions at training to mathematical and cybernetic disciplines of students of all specialities KBTU. On department 6 doctors of physical and mathematical sciences, including one full member of AN RK, 5 candidates of physical and mathematical sciences work. On employment chair are spent on 20 subject matters.

Gulzhikhan Nurysheva took the reins as the Chair of the Faculty of Philosophy and Law in October 2006.
Gulzhikhan Nurysheva took the reins as the Chair of the Faculty of Philosophy and Law in October 2006. A member of the Faculty since 2004, Gulzhikhan Nurysheva is known for her innovative work on philosophy, particularly on issues involving a detailed knowledge of Kazakh Philpsophy, Anthropologic Philosophy, and Philosophy of the Culture.
Gulzhikhan Nurysheva’s research interests include the problems of the meaning of life and peculiarities of philosophical understanding of Kazakh nation. She is the instructor of scientific researches of aspirants and doctorates regarding mentioned spheres of philosophy. Gulzhikhan Nurysheva is the member of Governmental Program “Cultural Inheritance”.
Gulzhikhan Nurysheva received a B.S. in philosophy and economics from Kazakh State University, became a candidate of science in Kazakh State University (1992), and became a doctor of science in Almaty State
University (2002). She was appointed an associate professor at KBTU in 2004, and promoted to Chair in 2006. Gulzhikhan Nurysheva lives in Amaty.

Department of Sport and Physical Education
Alexander Anikin – chair
Anikin is a head of department of physical education and sports. He is Honored Coach of Kazakhstan and USSR in boxing, Honored Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan. Anikin is a member of the studies-methodical council of KBTU.
In 1976-1991 Anikin was a coach of the Kazakh team. He trained V.Demianenko (silver medalist at XXII Olympic Games in Moscow, 1980), E.Zaitsev (5th place at Olympic Games in Seoul, 1988) and Y.Kuliandin (bronze medalist of the USSR championship). 18 Masters of sports of USSR and Kazakhstan are also Anikin’s wards.

- Department of Sport and Physical Education
Since this academic year the chair of physical education, with the KBTU rector’s support, has launched a new discipline named fitness-bodybuilding. Fitness is one of popular ways of health improvement, that’s why KBTU has chosen this course. The university’s task is, along with providing a quality professional education, to graduate healthy specialists who will create the future of Kazakhstan.
In order to implement that idea, the chair of physical education has been reinforced with one of leading specialists of Kazakhstan, the international arbiter Talap Imataliyev who spearheaded a development of bodybuilding and fitness industry of Kazakhstan.
As a next step the fitness club “Arena” was chosen as a place for sessions. The club meets all the requirements of the educational process and offers a convenient schedule.
